Footsteps

The Challenge of New Puppies

The double flash of red-eye makes it very difficult to get a good picture of fast moving targets. These are my new family members, Boz and Tawny.

On a trampoline at night

Light painting on a trampoline

Fire People

My uncle and I had fun with this project. He was very kind not to light my hair on fire :)

This is my uncle trying to frame the giant moon. I like how the clouds in the sky looked so creepy. You can also see Mars in the shot.

Fire Trails

Used a candle for the light painting. Took the pictures outside with the giant moon as the light source.

Area 51

This was my first try back during the meteor showers in August.

New Weekly Challenge

Our New Weekly Challenge is

"LIGHT PAINTING"

There are a lot of good examples of this on the web, or you can just take a look at Brian's post on January 22

Heavenly Water

It seems I may have mis-interpret the word Bokeh :-p

I used a longer shutter speed to capture the movement of water, I thought the blurriness from the water made a good contrast with the still rock formation in the background.

Bokeh Spidey

Bokeh Desk

A little rotation, crop, and saturation.

Empty Road

Toothpaste

Carnation

Beach Bum Santa

The guys may not be interested, but the ladies should zoom-in. I just saw the Weekly Challenge and will participate next week.

bokeh contrast colors and similiar colors

I like the contrast between the money and the red background.

This is shot of some flowers in my dining room. I wanted to see how the bokeh looked with the same colors as the background.

Light Painting

Light painting experiment

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

I was drawn to the dark natural saturated blue sky, the dark cloud and reflection really added a lot into it showing how quiet and still everything is.

Night Photo

Did a little experimenting with some of the camera settings. Darkened the darks slightly with levels in PS. I think I like the idea of a weekly assignment. It got me to turn the camera on again.

Our new lamp

I mean Dog. His name is Dublin, we just picked him up from the shelter on Sunday. They said he is a poodle mix; mixed with what? I don't know. Our best guess right now is that he is a Bichon Frise mini poodle mix. we can't get him cleaned up for a couple of weeks because he was snipped.

Boating by night

I tried a few night shots but I didn't like any of them and then I ran out of time. I took this shot of a boat floating in the ocean. I really like the contrast of textures with the bumpy sand, the misty ocean waves, and the stars in the dark sky. I still have a few ideas that I want to try for another night shot, so I owe another shot.

Knight Photo

Cropped.

Cactus Garden - Infra Red

This lens (Canon 85mm f/1.8) isn't working out for infra-red photography - I can't seem to get rid of the hotspot in the center of each image.

Flash Ghost

Experimenting with the bulb setting on the camera.
